Gatsbian nights at Sticks McGee

Benike Palfi reviews the Rondebosch restaurant and bar

The Great Gatsby is one of my all-time favourite novels, so anything with a Gatsbian theme is good in my books (no pun intended). Needless to say, I was pretty excited when I was invited to go review Sticks McGee on a Friday night, where 1920s dress-up and swing music is pretty standard.

I dragged one of my best friends along (it was a voluntary dragging) for an evening of good conversation, classic American food, and live entertainment. Sticks McGee is situated in Rondebosch, which is a little out of my usual area, but I was pleased to find that this is a place for both young and old (okay, rephrase students and non-students), and it offered a nice mixture of class and casual.
