Vega JHB Showcase 2014
The Vega showcase is an opportunity to boast about the amazing students who pass through the school’s doors. This is done by showing their work in the form of a showreel, as well as an extensive exhibition of artworks, installations and portfolios.
Vega students are always working on their next great idea and the Vega showcase is when they get to share these pieces of brilliance with the world.
The annual Showcase night is hosted where students can display and exhibit their work on campus. Showcase is open to members of the public to view.
Vega also participates in industry events such as Portfolio Night. Portfolio Night is an annual event hosted by McCann, where students from various tertiary institutions in South Africa are invited to present their design work to a formal panel of creative directors from some of the country’s well-known advertising companies. Throughout the 2014 evening’s event, each creative director was asked to keep an eye out for attendees who stood out from the crowd, and who could best represent their city on a global stage. One of Vega’s third year students, Katlego Phatlane, from Vega Pretoria, won top honours on the evening and is off to showcase his work in New York. Vega is extremely proud of Katlego and has no doubt that he is going to carry the Vega name in very high-esteem when he heads to New York in August. We wish him all the best for his trip and we look forward to seeing the work he does on that campaign.
